Casting Call

What are you doing on June 20th?  No plans yet?

Head over to the Plough and Stars to celebrate the anniversary of Crash Safely mainstays Triple Thick!

Triple Thick

Why should you head out to this particular party in June (and why is Crash Safely telling you to do it)?

The Night Ridah and myself will be there, filming a shot-for-shot recreation of this video (also shot at the Plough and Stars):

This video shoot is actually a prize from last year’s silent auction.

Come out to the Plough and be in the video!

We think you like us, that’s what we think…

What a weekend!

Wow!
I’m still recovering from this weekend! Check out just a few of the photos Mick Murray took both nights! There are a TON more, and a bunch from other photographers as well!

Our silent auction for studio time ended on Sunday at 8pm and the winners have all been notified.  In case you’re wondering who to get friendly with really quickly, it’s:

Four hours at Woolly Mammoth Studio with Dave Minehan

Mike Oliver, ‘Hoods fan extraordinaire, won the Woolly time.

A Day in Studio B at Q Division with Ed Valauskas
AND
Two songs mastered at Peerless with Jeff Lipton

Well planned bidding earned Ken Rothman and his band studio time, not only at Q Division but at Peerless as well!

A Day at Zippah with Brian Charles

Frank D’Urso(aka FrankD from the Noise Board) clicked away with Zippah time!

Thanks to all of the bands, the Davis Square Theatre and all of the folks who donated raffle and silent auction items!
Thanks to all of the fans who came out, and to new friends met both nights!

MS doesn’t rest, so neither do we.  The ride is 10/21 and next year’s shows are already being planned.

Tomorrow and today 1

Did you make it out to Crash Safely last night?

If you did…why are you awake? I left before a bunch of folks at 2am. Put your smart phone down and go back to sleep!

We had so much fun last night, I can’t even begin to describe it!  Photos are forthcoming (we had many talented photogs running around last night), but know that EVERYONE had an amazing time!

If you’ve never seen the Phil Aiken Army, you need to remedy that ASAP.  They are a phenomenal bunch!

You also owe it to yourself to see the Dirty Truckers more often, and you need to check out the Unholy III. The Deelinquents seem to get more and more amazing every night as well. As for the Gents… I can’t even begin to describe the power they brought to the stage- Ducky Carlisle is a drumming master.

So, how will tonight go?  Well, check out what Lord Bendover had to say to the Globe.

Many thanks to all of the bands who make Crash Safely the amazing set of shows that it is!

We’ll see you tonight!!!

And now for something….kinda different.

You may have noticed that I haven’t been updating as regularly lately. There’s a good reason for that; I’m taking a video production class this summer and I recruited our friends TRiPLE THiCK into a day of shooting. This is the second time I’ve convinced Jim Seery to be on camera for a class project, so I’m wondering when he’ll need to get a SAG card or something along those lines.

In case you haven’t seen it, here’s two songs by TRiPLE THiCK, recorded at Zippah (making great use of their winnings from last year’s Crash Safely):
